The S801T24N3S soft starter by Eaton Cutler-Hammer is a high-performance multifunctional soft starter from the S801 series of reduced voltage soft starters that are designed to control the acceleration and deceleration of 3-phase motors in industrial applications. This soft starter features a very compact design that allows for easy installation, and this small design makes it easy to retrofit into an existing motor control enclosure and this reduces replacement costs. The S801T24N3S soft starter has a maximum carrying current of 240 Amps, with an operating voltage range of 200 to 600 Volts AC and a standard duty output power rating of 125 Horsepower. It has programmable overload range of 30 to 100% of the rated current, and an insulation voltage rating of 660 Volts AC. The S801T24N3S soft starter provides a wide range of factory default protection like the over-temperature protection that protects the device from overheating, the shorted SCR detection that monitors the starter for shorted SCRs, and the soft stop functionality that allows for controlled stopping when a high-friction load is involved. The S801T24N3S soft starter also features user-selectable functionalities like the stall protection, jam protection, and phase loss protection that allows the device to trip in the event of voltage loss in any of the phases. The S801T24N3S soft starter has a 3-pole design, and it also has 24 Volts DC control voltage for enhanced operator safety. This soft starter can be installed or retrofitted into an enclosure by using mounting plates and it requires a factory-provided lead lug kit for easy field wiring. The S801T24N3S soft starter has an operating temperature range between -30 and 50 degrees Celsius, and a storage temperature range of -50 to 70 degrees Celsius.

Additionally, the drive’s control circuit operates as 24VDC, nominal supply voltage.

The S801+T24N3S is a panel mounted soft starter device with built-in internal bypass and overload protection. It also has input terminals for hardwired STOP command, hardwired START command, Jog control, Overload disable upon START and Fault reset. For indication, the S801+T24N3S has One (1) Normally Open (N.O.) relay contact which can be connected to an external Pilot lamp to indicate internal bypass and a Fault relay which may also be connected to a Pilot lamp for soft starter fault.

The S801+T24N3S meets a variety of industry standards such as IEC/EN 60947-4-2, UL 508, CSA22.2-14-1995, GB14048 and carries agency approvals from CE, UL, CSA, C-Tick and CCC. It has IP20 protection rating and IP00 for wiring terminals. IP20 may be achieved when the terminals is installed with the optional terminal cover with part number SS-IP20-TU.
