The S801V10N3S soft starter is a 3-pole and 1000 Amps rated soft starter designed by the Eaton Corporation for the control of 3-phase motors. It belongs to the S801 starter series which is available for current ratings ranging from a minimum 12 Amps to a maximum 1000 Amps. Features available in the S801 series soft starters include integrated overload protection, adjustable torque control, configurable overload settings, integrated bypass contactor, and optional pump control. The S801V10N3S soft starter is a non-combination soft starter without additional options and which comes with standard soft starter overload protection. The control power requirements for the starter include 10 Amps and 240 Watts for inrush characteristics. The S801V10N3S soft starter supports 230, 380 to 480, and 440 Volts AC at 50 Hertz and it can be used for motors with output power ratings of 315, 560, and 600 kilowatts, respectively at these input voltage ratings.

The S801V10N3S soft starter supports the kick start mode which provides a current boost initially for 0 to 2 seconds at 0 to 85% of the rated motor torque and which helps to start the motor. It also supports the ramp start mode which allows for the setting of the initial torque which can be raised to a full voltage condition later on. Additionally, the current limit start and soft stop modes are also supported. The S801V10N3S soft starter weighs approximately 91 pounds. Its frame dimensions are as follows: 187.8 millimeters in height, 420 millimeters in length, and 280 millimeters in width. It can be stored in locations where the ambient temperature is kept within a range of -50 to 70 degrees Celsius. For operation, the manufacturer’s recommended working temperature range is between -40 and 50 degrees Celsius.
