The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S801V36P3S non-combination open type of soft starter is an industrial-based soft motor starter from the S801 reduced voltage soft starter family designed to provide precise and accurate controlled acceleration and deceleration of 3-phase industrial motors. The Eaton S801 line of industrial soft starters offers very compact, multi-functional, easy to install, and easy to program designs, and they come with an integral run bypass that offers smooth motor operation even at a full nominal rating. The S801V36P3S soft starter has an operating 3-phase line voltage rating of 200 to 600 Volts AC and an operating current rating of 360 Amps at 480 Volts AC and 47 to 63 Hertz line frequency input.

The S801V36P3S soft starter has a rated impulse voltage of 660 Volts AC and a bypass lifespan of 10 minutes. It offers the kick start, ramp start, current limit start, and the soft stop as standard start and stop modes, and with an adjustable ramp time from 0.5 seconds to 180 seconds. It also has a pump control stopping option that provides smooth transition stopping in pumping applications, thus eliminating the water-hammering effect that may damage pipes, valves, and pumps. The S801V36P3S soft starter offers over-temperature protection, stall protection, jam detection, phase loss protection, phase reversal control, and shorted SCR detection as standard protective features. It comes with a 24 Volts DC control circuit which confers additional user and equipment protection.
