The Eaton Cutler-Hammer SPX550A0-4A2N1 drive is an adjustable frequency AC drive that is a part of the SPX9000 series of drives. This is a 550 Horsepower AC drive supplied with 380 to 500 Volts (+10%/-15%) 3-phase AC voltage that comes in an IP 00 rated (open) housing. The power is delivered to the drive over bus bars. The unit is delivered with 1 control board and 2 standard boards (the A9 I/O board and A2 relay output board) in slots A and B, while there is a space for 3 more optional boards that can be used to install communication, feedback, and I/O devices. The SPX550A0-4A2N1 drive is controlled with a keypad that is available on the front of the device, or over the 9000XLoad software tool. The users can use the software tool to update the software package and firmware of the device. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer SPX550A0-4A2N1 drive can display up to 3 parameters on the HMI screen. The drive is delivered in the frame 11 housing that has dimensions of 27.9 inches by 45.5 inches by 18.2 inches. The drive is not equipped with an internal brake chopper circuit, it has a 100 kA interrupting capacity, and it is protected internally from ground faults, high and low voltages, and overtemperature situations. The drive monitors for motor stall situations, overloading, and underloading. The unit will also trip if any of the input or output phases are missing. The output frequency of the drive can go from 0 to 320 Hertz with 0.1-Hertz resolution.
