The SVX040A1-2A1N1 is an SVX9000 family variable speed drive designed and manufactured by the Eaton Corporation. The drive is shipped with a preset frequency that is proportionate to the line input and frequency. However, its adjustable frequency provides a way to introduce a user-adjusted frequency which is rated above the line frequency. Note that while it is adjustable, a higher frequency can result in damage to the driven motor. Therefore, before adjusting the frequency, the controlled devices should be evaluated to ascertain that they can handle a higher frequency. The SVX040A1-2A1N1 can be used to control motors with a Horsepower rating of 40 Horsepower. The drive is operated at a voltage of 230 Volts AC from a 3-phase power source. The SVX030A1-2A1N1, as with other adjustable frequency drives in the same family, can accommodate and control more than 1 motor, provided they are connected in a parallel sequence.

The SVX040A1-2A1N1 has no brakes. Along with a display screen, the drive contains a keypad (alphanumeric) for adjusting parameters and navigating through the settings. Note that the intermittent operating current of the motor should not be more than the intermittent operating current of the drive. The SVX040A1-2A1N1 is rated to be operated in an environment that has a relative humidity of between 5 and 95% without condensation. Additionally, the environment should free from dripping water and without corrosive substances. At its maximum load capacity, the SVX040A1-2A1N1 has a rated operating altitude of 3300 feet without derating. Exceeding this altitude causes 1% derating for every 330 feet above the maximum rated altitude up to a maximum of 10,000 feet. The SVX040A1-2A1N1 supports a Type FR7 frame.
