The Eaton / Cutler Hammer W200M1CFC is a NEMA 1 compliant Soft Starter that is part of the advantage series. Specifically, it is a non-reversing magnetic motor starter and contactor. It is installed with solid-state current-sensing circuitry that enables automatic detection of overload, phase loss, phase imbalance and ground-current sensing. The overload capability of this starter is features automatic and manual reset and offers overload trip class 10/20/30.

The W200M1CFC’s applicable motor Full Load Current (FLA) is 3.43 Amperes - 27.0 Amperes. It comes with Eight (8) DIP switches that is used to configure the starter’s Overload setting, Overload protection class and Automatic / Manual reset. For manual reset, the reset button is located at the lower right area of the starter.

This starter has physical dimensions of 5.37 in (H) x 6.18 (W) x 9.18 in (D) and weighs 3.1 lb. It is installed in an environment with adequate space for natural airflow as well as adequate working space in the event of troubleshooting and maintenance. It provides full voltage motor starting capability as well as starting, stopping and interrupting the locked rotor current of motors.

When performing reset to the device, ensure that the intended reset setting is properly configured by DIP switch 8. It set to manual, (Switch 8 in Position 0), device reset within 5 minutes while for automatic reset, reset time is based on the overload trip class which is set bi DIP switch no. 6. If a selected trip current setting continuously results to an overload trip, it is recommended to move to a higher trip class setting rather than selecting the next higher trip current setting.

The W200M1CFC, since it belongs to the Eaton Advantage series, provides standard overload protection functions which also includes phase loss and phase unbalance protection. Starters in the Eaton Advantage series provide a cost-effective way to initiate communication. They also have On and Off commands, status indicators, and motor data that can be linked to automated control systems without the need for extra sensors. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer W200M1CFC is listed by the Underwriters Laboratories and approved by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). To provide phase loss protection, the W200M1CFC, like other Eaton Advantage motor starters, will trip after 2 seconds of phase loss. The starter will sense a phase loss if the current in any one phase falls below 1.15 Amps. The W200M1CFC has a NEMA size 1 rating. Advantage starters with this size rating have an AC coil burden (inrush) of 250 Volts Amps, a closed wattage of 5 Watts, 78 Volts of pick up, and 60 Volts of drop out. The W200M1CFC measures 6.50 inches in height, 2.50 inches in width, and 4.96 inches in depth. The panel area measures 16.25 square inches. When wiring the W200M1CFC, copper wires are recommended. Also, the wires should not exceed a size of 8.0 AWG. For the auxiliary electrical circuit, a wire not exceeding 12 AWG should be used.
