The 92-00657-04 terminal is an operator interface terminal and a dedicated electronic operator interface device manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer as part of the PanelMate 92** product line. This terminal is specially designed to offer visual control to the PLC machine control systems.  The PanelMate 92** terminals, including the 92-00657-04 terminal, are more economical, easy-to-use, flexible, and fully expandable than the conventional hardwired control devices such as the lights, gauges, and pushbuttons found in many industrial systems. They also reduce the costs of hardwiring and reduce configuration time. These terminals also give the users more operational information to enhance control and keep track of the application processes. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer 92-00657-04 terminal comes with an electronic module that has auto-sensing voltage rated at 120 to 230 Volts AC and a frequency of 47 to 63 Hertz, with a power output of 55 Watts. The terminal also features a continuous current rating of 0.8 Amps and a peak inrush current of 16 Amps.

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer 92-00657-04 terminal and all of the Eaton PanelMate 92** series terminals come with a manual display adjustment option that is located on the terminal's back. The brightness and contrast of the screen allow for adjustment with a Philips head screwdriver. The  92-00657-04 terminal also features a 1-megabyte flash memory used for the storage of programs, fonts, and messages, and it comes with a battery-backed real-time internal clock that can last for up to 10 years. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer 92-00657-04 terminal has 2 built-in RS-232 and RS-422 serial ports featuring selectable baud rates for PLC communication and for printer connections. Additionally, it supports direct connection to the Allen-Bradley Remote I/O and Data Highway networks, the GE Fanuc Genius I/O network, the PROFIBUS network, and the DeviceNet network, thus enabling extensive communications capabilities.
