The 7600E, of the PanelMate ePro PS family, is an interface device between the machine and operator. It is a highly efficient, budget-friendly and reliable device manufactured by the Cutler Hammer division of Eaton Corporation. It is a combination of sturdy solid-state hardware and a highly stable Windows XPE operating system with 1GB user memory and a Protect Mode feature that prevents accidental damage of files in a C drive. It delivers the performance of a PC on the shop floor without any associated complexities. It has four USB ports, an Ethernet port, two Serial ports and a video output port. In addition, it contains a PCMCIA slot and a variety of options to expand its memory via a USB Disk or Compact Flash drive.

The 7600E interface is IP65 rated and has dimensions of 9.3 x 12 x 3.6 inches and weighs around 4 pounds and 8 ounces. It is available in two options, which are painted steel or stainless steel. The 7600E can be readily installed and easily operated. It has the ability to replacing any hard-wired system containing indicators or push-buttons among a list of features. This device can be used to not only control and operate a machine but also for data acquisition and SCADA functions. It is advised to power the device with an isolated 4 A, 24 Volt DC supply.

Use a 0.82 millimeter squared copper lead connection to connect the device to the supply line and to ground the device. The maximum power consumption of the 7600E is only 24 Watts, as it is a blind node device, meaning it does not contain a screen. After installation and first-time operation of the device, PanelMate PC Runtime software is provided. OPC drivers are to be downloaded and installed prior to running any type of Canvas application file. Canvas Runtime Software could be used to generate an application for the actual operation. Further, the device can be connected easily to a PLC through an Ethernet port or an interface card.
