The Eaton Cutler-Hammer 7685ST-12E PanelMate ePro PS display terminal is an enterprise edition high-performance operator interface terminal that is designed to provide a cost-effective HMI solution to a wide range of applications. This terminal combines the Microsoft Windows XP embedded operating system (a subset of the Windows XP professional operating system) and the Eaton Cutler-Hammer exclusive Protect Mode for easy customization, the support of third-party applications, the protection of the operating system, and the protection of unwanted software changes. The 7685ST-12E display terminal features a 12.1-inch color TFT touch display with an 800 x 600 SVGA resolution and a display brightness of 420 Nits. It has a field-replaceable backlight with up to 50,000 hours of backlight time and an auto-dimming capability. The 7685ST-12E display terminal offers a resistive touchscreen interface that supports bare-hand and gloved-hand use for operator input. It has 1 GB DDR2 RAM and 4 GB of internal CompactFlash memory for OS and data storage.

The 7685ST-12E display terminal supports external CompactFlash card use, 18 to 30 Volts DC operating input voltage (24 Volts DC nominal voltage) and a maximum power consumption rating of 35 Watts. It has a nominal current rating of 1.5 Amps and a maximum inrush rating of 7 Amps. The 7685ST-12E display terminal supports a wide variety of communication options like RS-232 communication (COM1, COM2) and RS422/485/485+ (COM1, and the LAN Ethernet) communication. The 7685ST-12E display terminal, like every Eaton Cutler-Hammer PanelMate ePro terminal, comes with factory-loaded software and software licensing including the PanelMate ePro PS Runtime software, and the KEPServer_ePro OPC Server software, and it can be configured by using the ePro Canvas development software. It has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and a storage temperature range of -25 to 70 degrees Celsius.
