The 7685T-12OD is a 12-inch outdoor operator interface panel. It belongs to the Cutler-Hammer T PanelMate ePro PS OD family manufactured by Eaton. This module comes with 1 Integrated Ethernet port: 10/100Base-T, 2 Serial ports: 1-RS-232, 1- RS-232/422/485 optically isolated, 4 USB ports (2 – V1.1, 2 - V2.0), 1 Compact-flash memory card slot, 2 PCMCIA Type II slots (or 1 Type III), Support for optional PCI adapter, and Built-in OPC Client/Server support. With over 80 OPC drivers for both Ethernet and serial connectivity, this module can connect virtually to any PLC platform. No additional activation or fees are required for connecting to the OPC server engine.

With PCMCIA and PCI availability, this unit has a wide selection of both proprietary and open network interfaces from DeviceNet and PROFIBUS, to Data Highway Plus, ControlNet, and Modbus Plus. It can be used in monitoring and diagnostic applications in various domains and features a resistive touch screen for operator inputs on site.

Correct enclosure sizing is important for efficient heat dissipation and for the ease of installation and maintenance. It is recommended to keep a minimum clearance space of 4 inches for the 7685T-12OD, operating at a maximum of 60 degrees Celsius. Use filtered fans, heat exchangers or air conditioners may be required to maintain the temperature inside the enclosure in the range.

The 7685T-12OD can be connected online using standard crossover ethernet cables, in various configurations including Point to Point (Direct, Hub/ Switch) and Local Network (Dynamic / Static Addressing) It also comes with a touchscreen driver that loads at startup. To re-calibrate the screen, go to Start > Programs > PenMount USB Utilities > and Touchscreen Control Panel. Then select either the Standard Calibration or the Advanced Calibration button. Next, click on the squares that will appear on the top, right, bottom, left and center of the screen, and finally, click OK to save the calibration.
