The 7685T-8E is a PanelMate ePro PS Enterprise Edition (EE). This device is a operator panel device that is manufactured by Eaton corporation. Being and Enterprise Edition operator panel, the 7685T-8E is provided with higher memory allocation or additional Windows XP embedded (XPE) components and services. Additionally, the EE series supports additional software packages such as CH Studio, IProx Development Software, SVX Drives SoftwaremELCSoft, Programming Software, PowerNet Software and Power Xpert Software.

The 7685T-8E is equipped with a variety of software applications such as PanelMate ePro PS Runtime software, KEPServer_ePro OPC Server, KEPServer_ePro OPC Drivers, Data Archiving and Recipe Management License. It also has a preloaded image which runs the operating system and the operator panel files relative to the panel model. For the 7685T-8E, the preloaded image and restoration image is 76MLEE.

With an 8-inch colored display with VGA resolution 640 x 480 pixels in 16 million colors. It is operated through the analog resistive touch input interface. Additionally, software-based operator input components such as pop-up and alpha-numeric keyboard may be activated for additional input option.

This operator panel can communication with controllers via the available serial interface of Ethernet communication ports. The serial interface is composed of One (1) RS232 port and One (1) RS232 / RS422 / RS485 combo ports. This serial interface is ideal for peer-to-peer communication while the Ethernet interface allows this operator terminal to perform data exchange with one or more controllers in the Ethernet network.

The 7685T-8E interface panel has a touchscreen display with an SVGA graphics resolution of 800 x 600 pixels in 16 Million colors. The Interface Panel has a temperature operating range from 0 to 55 degrees Celsius and a noncondensing humidity range of 20% to 95% of relative humidity. Its frame is rated as NEMA 4, 4X, 12 and IP65, for industrial environments with non-conductive pollutants only. The 7685T-8E has an operating voltage around 24 Volts DC -15% to 20%. Its power requirements are 28 Watts for normal operation (1.3 A). The power source can withstand a current peak inrush of 7A at maximum for the display and electronic unit. The Cutler-Hammer 7685T-8E Panel Mate is provided with two (2) RS-232, RS-422 or 485-2 serial ports, a Video out (VGA) port, a LAN (Ethernet) port, and four (4) USB 2.0 ports. It operates with the ePro Canvas editing software. This software supports graphical templates, called controls, etc. The ePro PS 7685T-8E comes with drivers for both Ethernet and serial connectivity to other PLC platforms or networks, allowing communication with almost all the PLC available in the market.
