The GE Fanuc IC670CHS004 Terminal Block is a solid-state terminal block specifically designed for thermocouple signal connection into the GE Fanuc Field Control Station. It serves as an interface that permits the reception of millivolt voltages like the ones commonly transmitted by temperature sensors. This terminal block serves the purpose of a junction compensation circuit for thermocouples sensors that are employed as field devices for the Field Control thermocouple modules. The thermocouple sensors are connected through screw terminals in the GE Fanuc IC670CHS004 Thermocouple Terminal Block. The thermocouple modules are mounted in a different I/O terminal block, and need to use proprietary wiring and connectors in order to process the signals coming from the thermocouples sensors in the field through the GE Fanuc IC670CHS004 Thermocouple Terminal Block.
The main advantage of using the IC670CHS004 Thermocouple Terminal Block in temperature-measuring applications is that it isolates the temperature reading from the application process, thus compensating for any interference present in the circuit, such as the temperature variations caused by the circuit electronics' generation of heat. The GE Fanuc IC670CHS004 Thermocouple Terminal Block is able to compensate for this and any other induced temperature variations in the application process by using a pair of built-in thermistors. Two different thermocouple sensors can be installed in a GE Fanuc IC670CHS004 Thermocouple Terminal Block. An important aspect to take into account is grounding because this terminal block needs to have a tight connection to the chassis ground in order to be able to properly compensate for temperature. For physically connecting the incoming cables to the pins, a proprietary tool known as the AMP Pro-Crimper II Hand Tool Assembly 90546-1 is recommended.
