The IC670MDL644 24 Volts DC Positive/Negative Input Module is a Field Control Logic Fast Input Module made by GE Fanuc. It offers a single group of discrete inputs that can be driven by both positive and negative logic. The IC670MDL644 24 Volts DC Positive/Negative Input Module comes with 16 inputs, individual LEDs for the logic side inputs, and a "PWR" indicator LED to monitor the status of the power supply. The bus interface unit provides the power needed to drive the 5 Volts logic, and an external 24 Volts DC power supply is required to power up the input devices. It also provides isolation ratings such as 250 Volts AC of continuous user input to logic isolation and 1500 Volts AC of user input to frame ground isolation for 1 minute.

The IC670MDL644 24 Volts DC Positive/Negative Input Module has parallel to serial converters which convert the data from the data buffer to a serial format that can be used with the bus interface module. After connecting the bus interface module properly, the power LED of the module shows the power status and the bus interface module starts reading the processed and converted input data. It can have both positive and negative inputs. In order to receive the current from the input devices, the positive inputs can be used. The negative inputs are useful when providing current to the input devices. A terminal block with box terminals or barrier terminals can be used to perform the field wiring of the IC670MDL644 input module efficiently. The internal module circuitry is equipped with a network of resistors and capacitors for providing input thresholds and filtering.
