About IC670MDL730

The Field Control IC670MDL730 DC Output Module is a 24 Volts DC positive logic electronic short circuit protection output module made by GE Fanuc. Each output on the module offers electronic short circuit and overcurrent protection. The Field Control IC670MDL730 DC Output Module also provides a generated fault report if an overcurrent or short circuit condition occurs. The power supply of the bus interface module can be used to power up the module. It has indicator LEDs to provide the output on/off status, the status of the power supply, and the fault status of the module. It is compatible with the IC670GBI002 Genius bus interface module revision 2.10 or later and the Profibus interface unit.



 



The IC670MDL730 Discrete Output Module has 8 discrete outputs in a single group. During operation, the bus interface module sends output data to the output module. It sends data in a serial format. In order to verify the data, the output module itself automatically sends this data back to the bus interface module in a loop. After verification, the serial to parallel converter converts the data into a parallel format to use within the module. This module also offers a built-in overcurrent protection, when the current exceeds the specified value or duration. The short circuit protection function trips when the load is shorted. The IC670MDL730 DC Output Module has 20 Amps of short circuit response current for 100 microseconds. It does not provide group to group isolation but it provides a MOV across the power supply line to protect the module from transient voltage surges. It also equipped with capacitors for noise protection.
