The Field Control IC670MDL742 DC Negative Output Module is a GE Fanuc 5, 12, and 24 Volts DC rated output module with 16 negative logic discrete outputs. The outputs act as current-sinking outputs that switch the loads to the negative side of the DC power supply. The power to the IC670MDL742 DC Negative Output Module is supplied by the bus interface module. It is recommended to use an external DC power supply module to provide the power required for the loads. There is a 10 Amps rated fuse within the module to connect to the external power source. There is a transparent potion on the top of the module for the clearly visible indicator LEDs.
The IC670MDL742 DC Negative Output Module performs processing through the bus interface unit. The bus interface module also helps to collect output data from the host devices or processor. Its PWR indicator LED can be used to check whether the backplane power to the module is present and if the fuse is blown. The logic power to the module is received from the bus interface unit. There are optoisolators to isolate the logic components of the module from the field output. It consists of FETs that are powered by an external power supply to sink the current through the loads. The outputs are capable of sinking up to 0.5 Amps per point. The entire module has 8 Amps of a total steady-state load. The IC670MDL742 DC Negative Output Module has a single group of outputs and it does not provide isolation between individual points in a group. It comes with an easy-to-remove fuse to protect the outputs from a large current or power supply polarity reversal.
