The IC660BBA103 is a Genius I/O block. This I/O block is a Thermocouple Input block that is capable of accepting signals from a variety of Thermocouple sensors and millivolt signals. Specifically, Thermocouple type J, K, T, E, B, R, S, and N sensors may be wires to the input channels of this block as well as millivolt signals with range of 25.0mV to +150mV for voltage measurement. This input block has Six (6) input channels, grouped into Three (3), with each group having Two (2) input channels.

The module’s performance with voltage measurement exhibits an accuracy of 8 Hz at 25 Degree Celsius with typical resolution of +/-10µV error and maximum of +/-20µV. It has a typical bandwidth input amplifier filter of +/-2µV per °C. For Thermocouple operation, the module’s performance is affected by the type of compensation used. When used with internal cold junction measurement, measurement range is 0-60 Degree Celsius with resolution of less than +/-0.01°C. When used with external cold junction measurement, measurement range is -25 - +150 Degree Celsius with resolution of +/-0.01°C.

The IC660BBA103 Thermocouple input block has an update time of 2.0 seconds, typical and maximum update rate of 3.0 Seconds. It is capable of detecting open wire connection in less than 5.0 seconds. It is also capable of Open Wire, Overrange, Underrange, High Alarm, Low Alarm, and Internal Fault diagnostics.

The IC660BBA103 input block has status LED indicators of Unit OK and I/O Enabled. Additionally, it has block to block isolation of 1500 V and group to group isolation of 300V. This module is powered by an external supply voltage of 115VAC/125VDC.

The IC660BBA103 Thermocouple Input Block is capable of temperature measurement, filtering, amplification, voltage to frequency conversion, and compensation levels. Its diagnostic facilities can be used to find a faulty connection to thermocouple inputs which are also known as open-wire diagnostics. Thermocouple wires can be easily connected to the 6 input channels by using connector-type crimp pins of the same alloy while considering the polarity. The hand-held monitor provides the facilities to configure the module and prevent unwanted changes to the configuration in its configuration protection mode.
