The General Electric ES1221R QuickPanel View operator interface terminal is an all-in-one operator interface terminal that is designed to provide complete visualization, communication, and control for a wide range of local and distributed industrial control processes. It provides flexibility and smart motor control by integrating process control, view, communication, and I/O into a single control platform for enhanced real-time control, performance, and productivity. The ES1221R terminal requires 24 Volts DC input voltage, with 2 Amps of operating current, and a real power rating of 48 Watts. It features a 12-inch TFT LCD screen with 800 x 600 pixels of screen resolution and an analog resistive touchscreen surface that can be operated by users wearing factory gloves. The ES1221R terminal offers a cold cathode fluorescent backlight with up to 50,000 hours of half-life, and a brightness of 500 NITS. This device comes with a 400 MegaHertz Intel XScale PXA255 processor which helps to process operation data, and a built-in 64-Megabyte non-volatile device memory unit that is used for data storage, application storage, and the Windows operating system.

The ES1221R terminal also has a battery-backed 512-Kilobyte SRAM that stores operation data in the event of a power failure, and if extra memory space is required, the device memory can be expanded to up to 128 Megabytes by using the built-in memory expansion slot. The ES1221R terminal has 2 USB ports, 1 Field Bus slot, 2 Ethernet 10/100 MB ports (RJ-45), and an RS-232/RS-485 Serial communication port. It comes pre-loaded with the 32-bits Microsoft Windows CE.NET operating system that provides a graphical user programming interface and supports a third-party application for simplified programming and control. The ES1221R terminal comes with a front panel bezel that provides extra screen protection, and it has LED light indicators that show the device’s operating status. It has total enclosure dimensions of 8.9 x 11.85 x 2.37 inches and an approximate weight of 2.5 pounds.
