The General Electric ES1522R QuickPanel View terminal is an all-in-one operator control interface terminal with advanced control features that are designed to provide an enhanced human-machine interface and control for both local and distributed control applications. The ES1522R terminal comes with an advanced Intel microprocessor that incorporates a high-resolution touchscreen interface, multiple I/O options, multiple standard expansion ports, and busses for application flexibility. The ES1522R terminal has a nominal DC voltage rating of 24 Volts DC, and a total power rating of 48 Watts. It comes with a high-speed Intel XScale PXA255 microprocessor and 64 MB non-volatile memory that is split between long-term storage for user application programs and the Windows CE operating system. The ES1522R terminal has a 512 KB battery-backed SRAM retentive memory for user data storage, ensuring that there is no loss of useful operation data in the event of power failure. The ES1522R terminal also comes with a 100-pin DIMM memory expansion slot that lets the users increase the memory size to up to 128 MB to accommodate a wide range of application needs.

The ES1522R terminal provides complete visualization via the 15-inch Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) LCD screen with 1024 x 768 pixels display resolution, and with a screen brightness of 500 NITS. Users can enter application parameters, setup, and control the terminal via its 12-bit resistive touchscreen with a software emulated keyboard (soft input panel). The ES1522R terminal supports multiple expansion ports like the Compact Flash Memory, FieldBus, and USB ports for connection to various industrial devices. It has 2 Ethernet 10/100 MB ports, and 2 serial communication ports for wider network connectivity and control. It comes with the Microsoft Windows CE operating system that provides a graphic user interface for application development and it supports 3rd party applications.
