The IC695CMX128 PacSystems Control Memory Xchanger Module is an RX3i series CMX module from GE Fanuc. It helps to share data between PLCs and other devices via a high-speed fiber-optic network. It uses a reflective memory network that can have up to 256 nodes. The network line transfer rate is 2.1 gigabits per second. The IC695CMX128 PacSystems Control Memory Xchanger Module is also compatible with the GE VMIC 5565 family of reflective memory devices. Some of the features of this control memory exchanger module include a single-slot form factor, 128 MB of reflective memory, software-configurable node parameters, and up to 300 meters of multimode fiber connections. The IC695CMX128 PacSystems Control Memory Xchanger Module must be installed in a GE RX3i universal backplane.
The IC695CMX128 PACSystems Control Memory Xchanger Module has 4 green status LEDs that are the "OK," "CONFIG," "SIG DELETE," and "OWN DATA" LEDs. They inform the users about the status of the CPU, about the module configuration, about signal detection, and about received data packets. The bottom of the module has an optical transceiver which contains 2 LC type fiber optic ports. These modules can be networked together with single or dual multimode fiber optic cables. The Proficy Machine Editor Logic Developer Software version 5.80 or later is required to program the module. It offers basic read and write operations as well as additional functions such as reading the interrupt status, reading parity errors, and other advanced functions. The nodes of the reflective memory network are connected in a daisy chain loop with fiber optic cables so that the transmitters and receivers are connected. The transmitter of the first node is connected to the receiver of the second node until the loop is completed.
