The IC695CNM001 PacSystems CANopen Master Module is an RX3i series communication module from GE Fanuc. It supports RX3i CPUs that can send and receive data via the CANopen network. This module acts as a master device that can control up to 5 slave devices on the CANopen network. It has 3 status indicator LEDs to display the module’s operating and communication status, and they are the "POWER," "MOD Status," and "NET Status" LEDs. The IC695CNM001 PacSystems CANopen Master Module also has a USB port as well as a 9-pin D-connector male interface port for communication. The backplane current consumption rating of the module is 800 milliamps at 3.3 Volts DC. The RXi3 CPU firmware version 7.70 or later is required for use with this module.

The IC695CNM001 RX3i CANopen Master Module can be installed in any slot in the main rack of the RX3i system except Slot 0 or the expansion slot. Some of the features of the module include TX and RX PDO data scanning at up to 272 bytes, PDO counter health status monitoring facilities, PDO mapping, node guarding and lifeguarding, and the heartbeat protocol. The data transport layer of the module is an 11 bit CAN frame layer and the baud rate is 10 kbits to 1 Mbits. The USB Mini Type B connector of the device can be used to download and configure the CANopen network configurations through the SYCON.NET software. The IC695CNM001 RX3i CANopen Master Module supports 15 transmit PDOs, 30 receive PDOs, 1 synchronization object, and network management objects. The module allows for hot-swapping, which means that it can be installed in or removed from a universal backplane while power is applied to the system.
