The IC693CHS393 is a Series 90-30 compatible baseplate. This is specifically a non-CPU baseplate, particularly called a Remote I/O baseplate formerly by GE Fanuc, now under Emerson Automation. This baseplate is used to implement Distributed I/O architecture, enabling a Series90-30 to cover a longer expansion distance compared to using expansion baseplates. With the use of the IC693CHS393, no more than 700 feet of cable connecting all remote I/O baseplates is permitted. The IC693CHS393 mainly features Ten (10) I/O slots that support the installation of Series 90-30 I/O and option modules. These I/O slots have a specific and unique size that cannot be mistaken with other modules thus, preventing incorrect module installation. This baseplate is also provided with a dedicated power supply slot for the installation of a compatible power supply module to energize the remote I/O station. For expansion rack addressing, the IC693CHS393 is provided with DIP switches. Furthermore, this base plate is provided with an expansion located on the rightmost side f the hardware which can be used for connection to additional expansion baseplates. When used with Series 90-30 CPUs such as CPU 331, 340, and 341, the maximum number of the allowed baseplate is Four (4). If used with a CU 350 or higher, the supported number of baseplates is Seven (7). This hardware does not support the installation of PCM, ADC, BEM330, and CMM as these modules are intended to be mounted on the CPU baseplate. This baseplate hay physical measurement of 10.43 x 5.12 x 5.59 in with backplane current consumption of 460 mA at 5 VDC.

The GE Fanuc IC693CHS393 baseplate is a 10-slot baseplate for the GE Series 90-30 PLC system. It uses 460 milliAmps of current along with a logic voltage rating of 5 Volts DC. It can easily connect all the baseplates that are within a 700-foot distance. It has dimensions of 17.44 inches in width, 5.12 inches in height, and 5.59 inches in depth. It is not a single standalone unit. Instead, it is made to be used along with the whole PLC system or a computer. This expansion IC693CHS393 baseplate is provided with a personal computer interfacing card. This card helps it to connect to a personal computer and operate efficiently with the computer. It can support up to 4 Series 90-30 CPUs at a time. For the Series 90-30 CPUs with part numbers higher than 350, the baseplate can support up to 7 CPUs. The baseplate comes with a built-in isolation feature. The isolation helps to counter problems that might occur due to unbalanced ground conditions. The GE Series 90-30 IC693CHS393 baseplate supports remote operation capabilities. The highest number of remote baseplates supported by the system depends on the type of CPU or CPUs that are utilized. The baseplate comes with a 25-pin female D-type expansion connector that is found at the right edge of the baseplate and that is made for connection with another baseplate. The IC693CHS393 baseplate has both CPU slots and non-CPU slots on the right side of the baseplate along with the expansion slot. Along with the slot, the baseplate comes with a rack number DIP switch. The PLC device must be fully disconnected from the main power source during installation for safety reasons. The baseplate should be protected against water sprays from all directions to avoid water damage.
