The IC697CHS790 is a 9-slot, rear mount rack that is part of the Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) series formerly by GE Fanuc Automation, now under Emerson Automation. This hardware provides the mounting location to any IC697 modules via the electronic mounting slots available. It allows any installed module to connect to the backplane to receive backplane power and communicate with an a communication adapter or a Central Processing Unit (CPU). The IC697CHS790 mounting slots are intended to any IC697 modules. Another mounting slot is also provided that is intended for installation of the rack power supply. This rack measures 11.15H x 19W x 7.5D (283mm x 483mm x 190mm) and supports extended I/O where additional Two (2) racks can be extended and share the same power supply module. The IC697CHS790 I/O configuration is softer configurable while rack identification or addressing is provided by the Four (4) jumpers located behind the rack power supply. Being a rear mount rack, a 10” deep space is required to properly install this hardware. In application where heat build-up is a concern, this rack has a specific fan accessory which can be used to prevent the occurrence of such condition. Compatible rack fan assembly includes IC697ACC721 for 120 VAC power source; IC697ACC724 for 240 VAC power source and IC697ACC744 for 24 VDC power source. When utilizing rack extension, appropriate power supply cable for use is required to power up the succeeding rack. Appropriate power supply extension cable has catalog number IC697CBL700 Power supply extension cable kit. aThe IC697CHS790 is a 9-slot, rear mount rack that is part of the Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) series formerly by GE Fanuc Automation, now under Emerson Automation. The IC697CHS790 rack is a programmable controller rack by GE Fanuc. It has a current rating of 20 Amps and a voltage rating of 5 Volts DC. It is a Series 90-70 controller rack with 9 mounting slots. It is used for industrial automation and it can configure the CPU and the input/output module. It is housed inside an enclosure with depth of 10 inches. It is compact in size and it has dimensions of 7.5 inches in depth, 19 inches in width, and 11.15 inches in height. The IC697CHS790 rack does not require slots or jumpers with the input/output module. The IC697CHS790 rack provides provision for 2-rack operations by using a single power unit for extended I/O requirements. The module supports slot addressing. It allows for the user configuration of I/O point references for switches and jumpers. The IC697CHS790 rack comes with a mechanical interlocking feature that prevents the accidental or unauthorized interchange of one module for another. The bundle of the wire is transported from the bottom of the terminal board to protect the terminal board housing. The IC697CHS790 rack supports the power supply extension cable as an accessory. The extension cable must be secured before the power is applied. To reduce system noise immunity in the rack, the power supply mounting must be secured, the GND terminal should be connected to either side of the rack and also connected to the earth ground. The IC697CHS790 rack also has a ground shield with the bottom rail of the rack. The rack is designed to comply with the VME standards.
