The IC697CMM742 is an Ethernet communication interface module that is made in compatibility with the Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) series of Emerson Automation, formerly by GE Fanuc. This module enabled Ethernet connectivity, allowing the host processor to perform data exchange over Ethernet network.

This module come with a variety of communication interfaces such as One (1) Station Mgr (RS-232) Serial Port; One (1) Software Load (RS-485) Serial Port; One (1) AUI Network Port; One (1) 10BaseT Network Port and One (1) 10Base2 network Port. It also comes with a restart that is used to re-initialize module communication.

The IC697CMM742 provides connectivity via support to a variety of communication protocols such as Data exchange using configuration-based and logic-based Ethernet Global Data (EGD) and TCP/IP communication services using SRTP. This module also supports downloading and uploading of user program, troubleshooting of the user program and hardware. This module may also be used to communicate with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) networks.
