The IC697CPM925 is a Central Processing Unit (CPU) module from the Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller family. This CPU is a stand-alone type, capable of controlling up to 12K discrete input and output of any combination and up to 8K analog inputs and outputs. It comes with an 80486DX2 microprocessor with a frequency of 64 MHz and a Boolean execution speed of 0.4 microseconds per Boolean function. The IC697CPM925 has battery-backed 1 MB random Access Memory (RAM) via the IC697ACC771 lithium battery. This battery retains the RAM contents such as the program and data when power is not supplied to the backplane. This battery has a shelf life of 1 year at 20 Degree Celsius with a memory retention capability of up to 6 months even without power applied to the backplane. The same battery operates the built-in calendar with a time of day accuracy of 3.5 seconds per day and elapsed time accuracy of 0.01%, maximum. The IC697CPM925 comes with a single communication port that supports RS485 electrical standard It supports multi-drop connection and is compatible with SNP protocol. This module has a current draw rated at 3.3 Amperes and comes with Three (3) LED status indicators such as OK, RUN, and ENABLED indicators. It also has a Memory Protect feature that prevents unwanted access to the controllers. The IC697CPM925 supports the entire IC660/IC661 and IC697 I/O product families. This CPU is downloaded with a user program that is developed using the Logicmaster 90-70, VersaPro professional edition, and Proficy Machine Edition Logic Developer PLC Professional edition.

The IC697CPM925 module is a CPU module for the Series 90-70 PLCs from GE Fanuc. The shelf life of the battery is 10 years at 68 degrees Fahrenheit and the memory retention is 6 months without applied power. The IC697CPM925 module is a 32-bit floating point CPU. The module requires a single slot in the PLC backplane. The number of total discrete I/O supported is 12 K and up to 8 K analog I/O. The power requirements of the IC697CPM925 module is 3.3 Amps nominal current at 5 Volts DC. The operating temperature range is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius with 70 cubic feet per minute of forced air-cooling. Without forced air-cooling, the operating temperature range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The accuracy of the IC697CPM925 module’s time of day clock is 3.5 seconds per day. The internal timing accuracy is .01%. The IC697CPM925 module includes a RS-422 and RS-485 compatible serial port which can be used to connect to a programmer. A lithium battery with the catalog number IC697ACC701 is installed on the IC697CPM925 module and it maintains the data and program memory when the power is removed. The old battery must be removed prior to the installation of the new battery. To remove the IC697CPM925 module from a rack, the module must be held firmly, and the rack clips on the back cover should be squeezed to disengage the clip from the rack rail and then the IC697CPM925 module should be pulled to remove it from the backplane connector. Finally, the module should be slid along the card guide to remove it from the rack.
