About IC697MDL240

The GE Fanuc IC697MDL240 Discrete Input Module is a product of GE Fanuc that has been manufactured as part of the GE Series 90-70 PLC product line. This input module has 16 isolated input points with a voltage rating of 120 Volts AC and an input filter delay time of 20 milliseconds and the isolation is designed to enable the connection between various AC supply phases and inputs. It also comes with reactive inputs with current-voltage characteristics supporting a wide range of 2-wire or 3-wire proximity switches. It has LEDs on the top, indicating the on/off status for the points on the PLC. The IC697MDL240 Discrete Input Module features mechanical keying which allows for I/O configuration without requiring the use of DIP jumpers or switches.



 



The configuration of the IC697MDL240 Module is done through the Windows or MS-DOS programming software that runs on the Windows NT or Windows 95 operating system via the SNP port or through the Ethernet TCP/IP port. The configuration function of the programming software is installed on the device that is used for programming. The IC697MDL240 Module draws 0.25 Amps from the 5 Volts bus found on the backplane. It also comes with a special mechanical key that has a fitting area to enhance the proper substitution of the module type. During the first installation, this mechanical key bolts into the backplane center rail. When doing a replacement, the formerly fit key allows for a similar module to be installed. The capacitive input circuitry provides room for heat dissipation and it offers high levels of reliability and a long life. In the on-state, there are 10 milliamps of typical current, and the module can also sink up to 4 milliamps of leakage current to the input device while in the off-state.
