The GE Fanuc IC697MDL251 Module is an input module manufactured by GE Fanuc as part of the Series 90-70 product line. The IC697MDL251 Input Module comes with 16 input points that are laid out in 4 individual groups, each with 4 points. Each of these groups is compatible with and can be used with a different AC voltage supply phase because each group is isolated. The IC697MDL251 Module is mechanically tuned to provide an easy suitable replacement with a similar type of module in the field. This 16-point input module is well-matched with a variety of input devices, including limit and selector switches, pushbuttons, and electronic 2-wire and 3-wire proximity switches. A current of 0.35 Amps is required through the 5 Volts bus found on the device’s backplane.

The GE Fanuc IC697MDL251 Input Module has a mechanical key that is dedicated to preventing any accidental or unauthorized switching of the modules in a specific slot. When the users want to change the location of the module after the key latching process, the module allows for the key to be removed when it is pushed upwards and therefore unhooks as it comes off the rail. After the installation location has been determined, the module and the key can then be reinserted. The IC697MDL251 Module’s wiring requires a connection from the source of power to the input terminal for all 4 input groups. Wire Size 14 to Wire Size 22 can be used for the removable field-wiring terminal board. The wires’ bundle is protected on the terminal board through the cable tie, which runs through the cleat found at the lower corner of the board. The main power source must be turned off when removing the board.
