The IC697MEM731 memory module is a GE Fanuc Series 90-70 expansion memory module. This 32-bit CMOS expansion memory module is available with capacities of 128 KB or 256 KB with 256 KB of nonvolatile flash memory. The IC697MEM731 memory module is made for use in the GE 780, 781, 782, 788, and 789 CPUs. It comes with memory that can be retained by the battery on the CPU. This means that when there is a power loss, the users will not experience any memory loss. The IC697MEM731 memory module does not require any extra expansion slot. This ensures ease of installation and ease of use. It is configurable for both data and program storage and it supports error checking which is done through the use of the CPU checksum routine. The installers should use a Philips screwdriver to install the memory module. It is a field-installable component and it can check each byte of the SRAM.



 



The IC697MEM731 memory module is used for providing the logic and the data memory on the CPU. Ideally, it is meant to be installed as a daughterboard and it usually resides on the same slot as the module that is installed to serve. The IC697MEM731 memory module comes with logic program memory that continually checks for errors as a background task. The memory parity errors will be reported to the CPU when they occur.
