The IC697PCM711 module is a programmable coprocessor module that is manufactured by GE Fanuc. Classified under GE Series 90-70, this single-slot programmable coprocessor module comes with a dual-tasking module and it can be programmed to perform different functions. The different functions that the IC697PCM711 module can be programmed to perform include real-time computations, operator interface functions, and also data functions. The IC697PCM711 module is used for performing operations related to storage, acquisition, and communication applications. Communication from the module to the PLC CPU is achieved through a backplane and there is no application program support needed. The IC697PCM711 module comes with several PCMs that are supported by the single IC697 PLC system that can accommodate the optional expansion memory with a capacity of up to 512 KB.



 



The IC697PCM711 module operates by using an expansion memory daughterboard. It comes with a base memory with a maximum capacity of 95 KB of user memory. The expansion memory daughterboard allows for the expansion of a data or program memory by 64, 128, 512, or 2586 KB. The IC697PCM711 module requires a power supply of 1 Amp that can be derived from the 5 Volts bus. When it comes to installation, the IC697PCM711 module should be installed with reference to the applicable programmable controller. Ensure that the rack power is disconnected and install the expansion memory where required. Moreover, it is necessary to connect the battery to either of the connectors provided with the unit. The IC697PCM711 module should be able to operate without an expansion memory daughterboard. Its programming and configuration are done by simply connecting an IC647 or IC640 computer or using an IBM-compatible PC.
