The Johnson Controls DT-9100-8004, a part of the Metasys DX series, is designed as a user interface for industrial applications. It requires a power supply of either 24 VAC @ 4 VA or a DC supply ranging from 9 to 18 volts, drawing 50 mA at 12 VDC. The LCD presents information in a character configuration pf 16 x 40, with an effective resolution of 240 x 128 pixels, supporting clear visibility in various lighting conditions.

Measuring 110 mm by 60 mm (4.3 by 2.4 inches), the display features an automatic backlight time-out to prolong battery life and reduce energy consumption. Communication capabilities include RS232, operating at 9600 baud, which supports asynchronous and half-duplex transmission. With a maximum cable length of 15 meters (50 feet), this unit offers good adaptability in setup configurations.

The functional parameters are expected to perform without condensation in the range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius and relative humidity levels between 10 and 90%. It can safely operate for storage between -20 and 60 degrees Celsius and up to 90% relative humidity while maintaining non-condensing conditions.

Constructed from UL94-V0-rated flame-retardant plastic, this user interface has an IP30 protection rating when used as a hand-held or wall-mounted device, while IP42 is achieved when it is panel-mounted. Its small footprint of 150 x 180 x 47 mm (5.91 x 7.09 x 1.85 inches) and lightweight design of 0.78 kg (1.72 lbs) make it easy to integrate into various systems.
