The Johnson Controls MS-NAE5510-1 Network Engine is a robust and adaptable supervisory device created to improve the administration and control of building automation networks. This web-enabled, Ethernet-based automation engine acts as a center for managing various systems in office buildings, manufacturing plants, and apartment complexes. The device can accommodate two N2 trunks, two BACnet MS/TP (RS-485) trunks, or a combination of a N2 trunk and a BACnet MS/TP trunk. Reliability in various settings is guaranteed by the product's robust plastic casing, which has an interior metal shield and IP20 protection. For serial communication and data transfers, the network engine is furnished with two RS-232-C connections and two USB Serial interfaces, respectively. In order to facilitate communication and integration with other devices, it also has one Ethernet port and two optically isolated RS-485 interfaces. In addition to having a data protection battery, the MS-NAE5510-1 runs on a 24 VAC power input. The ability to manage up to 100 devices per trunk gives plenty of flexibility and scalability. The device features 512 MB of flash memory to store the operating system, configuration, and operational data, making backup and recovery effective. Additionally, enhancing its dynamic memory capabilities is its synchronous DRAM of 256 MB.
