Mitsubishi Electric manufactured the A1SX42-S2 DC input module is intended for use in industrial automation systems to give input control signals, and it is especially well-suited for applications requiring a large number of input points. It has 64 input pins for connecting to various devices or sensors. It employs a photocoupler isolation mechanism to defend itself from noise or voltage spikes. The A1SX42-S2 is specifically intended to work with a 24 VDC rated input voltage. It has a rated input current of 5 milliamps (mA), making it compatible with a variety of input devices. The module runs in the 19.2 to 26.4 VDC operational voltage range, with a ripple rating of less than 5%. The ON voltage must be 17.5 VDC or higher, and the ON current must be 3.5mA or greater. The OFF voltage must be 7 VDC or less, and the OFF current must be 1.7 milliamps or less. The voltage and current levels at which the input signals are regarded ON or OFF are determined by these criteria. The A1SX42-S2 module offers a response time of 10ms or less in both the ON and OFF modes, allowing for quick and dependable signal processing. It has a common terminal arrangement with 32 input points per common, which allows for convenient wiring and organization. LEDs are used as functioning indications in the module. External connections are made through a 40-pin connector, allowing for simple integration into control systems. The internal current consumption rating of this module at 5 VDC with all supported input points powered ON is 90 milliamps.
