Mitsubishi's A3ACPUR21 serves as an Optical Data Link Module, facilitating seamless communication for automated equipment. It employs connectors such as BNC-P-5 and BNC-P-3NI (DDK) equivalents while supporting cable types like 3C-2V and 5C-2V for optimal connectivity. Capable of accommodating up to 2048 I/O points, this module operates using a half-duplex bit serial communication method at a speed of 1.25 Mbps.
Protection against brief power interruptions is allowed for a momentary duration of 20 milliseconds. It utilizes a frame synchronous method for synchronizing data transfers and a duplex loop method for its transmission path. The system can extend across an overall loop length of up to 10 kilometers (or 32,810 feet), while individual station distances can reach 0.5 kilometers (1,640.5 feet).
This module can interconnect up to 65 devices per loop, comprising one master station and as many as 64 local or remote I/O devices. The demodulation technique used is the CMI method, while the transmission format complies with the HDLC standard and employs a frame method.
Additionally, the A3ACPUR21 includes a Redundant Access System (RAS) function that supports loopback and diagnostic capabilities, allowing for efficient troubleshooting and maintenance.
