The FX-16EYS-ES-TBU output expansion module from Mitsubishi introduces versatile connectivity options for controlling various devices. This module utilizes M3.5 screws in its terminal block to establish connections to the PLC with a direct connector interface. It is designed to accept an external power supply ranging from 85 to 242 V AC, ensuring compatibility with varying input requirements.
With 16 output points, this unit can efficiently manage connected equipment across a wide output voltage range of 100 to 240 VAC. The output type is based on TRIAC technology, which allows for solid-state relay applications.
The maximum resistance load that can be handled by each point is set at 0.3 amps. When dealing with loads that experience frequent high rush currents, the root-mean-square (RMS) current should remain at or below 0.2 amps. Additionally, when using four resistance load points, the total load current must not exceed 0.8 amps, reinforcing proper load management.
For inductive loads, specifications allow up to 15 VA at 100 V AC and up to 36 VA at 240 V AC to ensure reliable operation in diverse applications. The circuit insulation employs photocoupler technology, providing effective separation and increasing safety.
Leakage currents are measured at 1 mA for 100 V AC and 2 mA for 200 V AC, ensuring minimal energy loss under open circuit conditions. Operation is easily identifiable, as an LED indicator illuminates when power is supplied to the phototriac.
The response time of this module is swift; it can switch from OFF to ON in approximately 2 milliseconds, and revert to OFF in 12 milliseconds. It’s important to note that these times do not account for any delays caused by the PLC itself. Power consumption is rated at 2.7 watts, or 112 mA at 24 V DC, providing an efficient operational profile for modern control systems.
