The Mitsubishi FX2N-32CAN is a communication module used in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems. It belongs to the FX2N series and has the following dimensions: height 90mm, width 43mm, and depth 88.7mm. This module supports the CAN (Controller Area Network) standard ISO 11898/1993 and the CANopen standard by CiA (CAN in Automation) DS-301 Version 3.0. Additionally, it includes additional CANopen features such as NMT (Network Management), Guarding, and Guarding requests based on DS-302 V2.0, as well as Network Variables based on DS-405 V1.0. The internal current consumption of the module is 130 mA at 5V DC. The transmission speed is selectable and can be set to 10 kbps, 20 kbps, 50 kbps, 125 kbps, 250 kbps, 500 kbps, 800 kbps, or 1 Mbps. The module allows for setting the node number from 1 to 127, and a total of 30 nodes can be connected on each bus. With the use of repeaters or bridges, the total number of nodes can be extended up to 127. The communication method can be either cyclic or event-driven. The transmission path type is CAN Bus (RS-485), and the recommended cable is a shielded 2 X 2 twisted pair cable with an impedance of about 120 ohms, conforming to ISO11898/1993. The FX2N-32CAN communication module is applicable to various Mitsubishi PLC series, including FX1N, FX3G, FX2N, FX3U, FX2NC, and FX3UC Series PLCs. It occupies 8 I/O points of the FX Series PLC, which are selectable from Inputs or Outputs. Communication with the PLC is achieved by FROM/TO instructions via the buffer memory.
