Mitsubishi's FX2N-485-BD communication board serves to enhance connectivity capabilities within automation systems. Power is supplied at 5 Volts DC from the main programmable controller unit. The board efficiently manages communication through both half-duplex and full-duplex methods. It features RS422 and RS485 interfaces, ensuring versatility in different networking scenarios.
Designed for a maximum transmission distance of 50 meters (164.04 feet), this communication module is capable of supporting diverse communication procedures. It accommodates both N:N networks and specialized protocols, as well as parallel link and non-protocol communication setups. Operating temperatures of the board range from 0 to 55°C, while it can tolerate storage conditions between -20°C and 70°C.
In terms of performance, the baud rate ranges from 300 to 19,200 bits per second for dedicated protocol and non-protocol communications. For parallel links, it maintains a standard rate of 19,200 bits per second, and it operates at 38,400 bits per second within N:N networks. The FX2N-485-BD features two LED indicators for monitoring the status of the communication interface.
This module is non-insulated and can be mounted using either a DIN rail or direct mounting method. Included with the board are one 110-ohm and two 330-ohm terminal resistors, as well as two M3 self-tapping screws for installation. The input current requirement is 60 milliamperes at the specified 5 Volts DC, making it a reliable component for integrating with compatible programmable controllers.
