FX2N-4AD-TC

The FX2N-4AD-TC block is a special function block with analog inputs that was designed and manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric. It is part of the MELSEC-F and FX2N series. The FX2N-4AD-TC special function block is a high-performance device that was designed to meet the temperature control needs of a variety of Mitsubishi MELSEC-F series PLCs or programmable controllers. The FX2N-4AD-TC special function block supports 4 thermocouple sensors that can be Type J or Type K sensors. The FX2N-4AD-TC block amplifies the signal that it receives from the 4 thermocouple sensors. It also converts the signal data into 16-bit readings that are stored in the main unit of the MELSEC-F PLC. The FX2N-4AD-TC special function block can read Fahrenheit temperature data and Centigrade temperature data. Type K thermocouple sensors have different reading resolutions than Type J thermocouple sensors. The Type K thermocouple sensors have reading resolution ratings of 0.4 degrees Centigrade or 0.72 degrees Fahrenheit. The Type J thermocouple sensors have reading resolution ratings of 0.3 degrees Centigrade or 0.54 degrees Fahrenheit. When the FX2N-4AD-TC special function block is installed in a PLC, it occupies 8 I/O points on the PLC’s expansion bus. These 8 I/O points can be outputs or inputs. This function block draws 30 mA of current from the 5 Volts rail of the PLC’s main unit or powered extension unit. Its dielectric withstand voltage rating is 500 Volts AC for 1 minute between all terminals and the ground. The FX2N-4AD-TC special function block can support photocoupler isolation between the analog and digital circuits.
