Mitsubishi’s MDS-B-SPJ2-04 is characterized as an AC spindle drive unit engineered for precise motion control. The unit connects to controllers via HDLC high-speed serial bus. With its speed adjustment span ranging from 35 RPM to as high as 10,000 RPM, it meets a variety of operational demands.

The device operates at an input voltage range between 200 and 230 volts AC using a 3-phase connection. The operating frequency is set at either 50 or 60 Hz, with a tolerance of ±5%. Furthermore, it supports a maximum load inertia ratio of ten times or less of the motor's inertia, ensuring reliable performance under varied load conditions.

Mitsubishi designed this drive for operational effectiveness across a relative humidity range of 90% RH without dew, indicating its robustness in moisture-prone environments. It also has a broad operational temperature range from 0°C to 55°C, ensuring dependability in diverse temperature conditions, while a storage temperature range from -20°C to 65°C provides flexibility for various applications.

This spindle drive unit measures 168 mm in height, 70 mm in width, and 135 mm in depth. For vibration tolerance, it can withstand maximum vibrations of 5.9 m/S² (0.6G) or less.
