The Mitsubishi MDS-D-SP2-2020 is a dual-axis spindle drive module engineered for high performance in various applications. It generates alternating current with a voltage output of 155 volts and supports continuous operation at 4.5 amps for each axis. The module can concurrently handle a nominal peak current of 20A on both axes, ensuring dynamic performance.

This drive module is powered by input voltages between 270V and 311V DC. Operating at an input current of 14A, it effectively manages the energy requirements. The control system operates at 200V AC at 50Hz or 200–230V AC when running at 60Hz, maintaining a permissible tolerance of ±3% on the frequency.

The control strategy employs pulse width modulation (PWM), facilitating smooth operation and precise control of spindle motion. The peak inrush current specification is rated at 30A, essential for initial startup phases. To enhance energy efficiency, the system incorporates energy recovery braking.

The main unit has an IP20 protection rating for environmental resilience, while the terminal section is IP00. Cooling is achieved through airflow, permitting continuous heat dissipation of up to 90W.
