The QD62D from Mitsubishi is a sophisticated high-speed counter module designed for precision counting applications. Operating at a maximum counting speed of 500 kilo counts per second, this module boasts two individual counting channels that effectively utilize differential input configurations and sinking output types.

The input signal level adheres to the EIA Standard RS-422-A, ensuring reliable signal transmission. It's capable of handling a range of input phases, including 1-phase (in single or double multiples) and 2-phase counting (offering options for single, double, and quadruple multiples), thus allowing flexibility in deployment based on user requirements. Furthermore, the module supports CW and CCW counting input, accommodating various operational setups.

The QD62D can register counts through a comprehensive range of 32-bit signed binary values, seamlessly handling negative to positive counts. For outputs, the coincidence output provides a transistor sinking type, allowing two points per channel. It operates at either 12 or 24 V DC, with current specifications of 0.5 Amperes per point and 2 Amperes common.

Regarding installation, the module occupies 16 I/O points and is classified for intelligent 16-point I/O assignments. Weighing only 0.12 kilograms, it presents a lightweight solution for counting tasks in automation systems, requiring only 0.38A of internal current at 5 V DC for operation.
