Omron’s 3G2A9-AL004-E is a versatile link adapter designed for numerous connectivity solutions. It supports connection types, including RS-422, RS-232C, and the PCF optical fiber cable. Functionally, it expertly converts signals between optical (PCF) cable and traditional wire (RS-232C or RS-422) configurations.

This link adapter accommodates a power supply voltage range from 94 to 132 VAC or 187 to 264 VAC, with an ideal nominal rating of 110–120 VAC or 220–240 VAC. The device has a modest power consumption of 10 VA at maximum.

The unit's light weight, which does not exceed 1 kg, contributes to its ease of installation. The built-in termination resistance, selectable at 220 Ω, adjusts signal quality to ensure optimal performance. In contrast, the CTS signal control offers flexibility, allowing it to be set to remain always ON or to external control as needed.

With a temperature operating range from -10°C to 55°C, the 3G2A9-AL004-E is well suited for diverse environmental conditions. Despite its impressive capabilities, it does not offer backup power support. The optical cable-compatible configuration can also support lengths up to 800 meters, making it ideal for extensive network layouts in industrial sites.
