The C500-K003-E PC Link Unit from Omron facilitates reliable data communication for distributed systems. It operates using two different communication methods: one with a 2-conductor configuration or another with a 4-conductor setup, both functioning in half duplex mode.

This unit employs HDLC for synchronization, ensuring accurate data transfer. With a transmission speed of 128 kbps, it efficiently manages information flow. Broad scanning is utilized as the transmission method, allowing connections over substantial distances, up to 500 meters.

The C500-K003-E can support eight single-level or eight multi-level PC Link units within a system, allowing for extensive intercommunication. For handling data, the maximum transmission time is capped at 35 milliseconds for 128 bits when interfacing with eight connected PC Link units simultaneously.

Built-in diagnostic features enhance reliability with a CPU watchdog timer and an error-checking mechanism using CRC. The module interfaces via RS-485 and requires a shielded twisted pair cable for optimal performance. This combination of features makes the C500-K003-E suitable for various automation applications requiring dependable and efficient communication.
