Omron's CQM1H-CTB41 High-speed Counter Board is an essential piece of equipment for automated factories. Offering four inputs and allowing for exact comparison operations, its major application is the accurate counting of high-speed pulses (switchable 50kHz/500 kHz on a single phase voltage) from a variety of sources. The external outputs are four as well. This board improves system performance by counting pulses in real time and producing custom output patterns based on those counts, allowing for more streamlined control and monitoring.

The CQM1H-CTB41 High-speed Counter Board, developed by Omron, is an essential part of many automated production lines. The CQM1H-series Inner Board is compatible with this flexible module, which can handle high-speed pulse inputs from 50kHz/500 kHz or 25k Hz/250 kHz (at single-phase and differential-phase voltage respectively) via any of its four ports. The board's three Input Modes, Differential Phase, Up/Down, and Pulse/Direction, make it versatile enough to handle a wide range of counting tasks. Its primary function is to process incoming pulses, which it does by carefully monitoring and counting each one. Pairing with the CQM1H-CPU51/61 CPU units, the High-speed Counter Board enables powerful comparison operations, with range and target comparisons resulting in user-defined 4-bit external bit patterns. It takes these patterns and uses bitwise OR to get results that are then sent out as outputs, which can be 4 at max. The external outputs may be activated or deactivated with lightning speed thanks to the board's quick 0.1 ms target matching reaction time. The unit's small size (25 x 110 x 107 mm) and light weight (90 g) allow for optimal use of available space. Notably, it can be powered by an external source with a voltage range of 5 to 24 V DC, and it has a switching capability of 16 mA/4.5 V DC to 80 mA/26.4 V DC, demonstrating its flexibility to meet a wide variety of voltage needs. The High-speed Counter Board, with its 18 LEDs, accommodating sockets and covers, and the ability to interface high-speed pulse inputs with advanced counting, comparing, and output features, is a prime example of a key enabler for industrial automation.
