Omron Automation and Safety has created the CS1W-PTS02, an isolated-type Resistance Thermometer Input Unit, for the CS Series PLC. Resistance thermometer sensors are fundamental to its operation, allowing for very accurate temperature readings. Input analog signals are converted to digital form, scaled, and then sent to the CPU Unit for further processing. Power consumption is 0.15 A (3.9 W), while the input current is 0.15 A (0.75 W). Integral improvement of automated procedures.

Omron Automation and Safety's CS1W-PTS02 is a Resistance Thermometer Input Unit with an isolated type that is designed to work with the CS Series PLC. Its principal function is to provide high-precision sensors for measuring and monitoring temperature utilizing resistance thermometers. This device eliminates the need for ladder programming at the CPU by digitizing input signals from 1 to 5 V or 4 to 20 mA and scaling them into industrial units before sending them on as process values. The DM and Special I/O Unit areas allow for accurate data exchange. The former permits the transfer of 10 words per unit. It enables communication of various process variables such as temperature readings, alarms, rate-of-change values, disconnection alerts, and cold junction sensor faults. The latter allows the CPU Unit to convey information to the Resistance Thermometer Input Unit, such as the type of temperature sensor being used, its input range, the scaling of process value data to be stored, alarm settings, and zero/span adjustment values, via a dedicated channel of 100 words per unit for use by Special I/O Units. The CS1W-PTS02 is compatible with the PLC system and may be installed in either the CS-Series CPU Rack or the CS-Series Expansion Rack, with eighty possible installations. The C200H Expansion I/O Rack and the SYSMAC BUS Remote I/O Slave Rack are incompatible with its mounting. To prevent number repetition among Special I/O Units, they are each given a distinct number between 00 and 95. The input current is 0.15 A (0.75 W), and power consumption is 0.15 A (3.9 W), according to the product's technical specifications. The CS1W-PTS02 is an essential part of the industrial automation process because of its ability to precisely measure, regulate, and monitor temperatures while integrating with the PLC system.
