The connection is achieved through a 2-carrier hard-plastic-clad quartz optical fiber cable, ensuring durability and effectiveness. The daisy chain transmission path allows the unit to extend communication over long distances—up to a maximum of 10 kilometers. When powered by a 5-volt DC supply, it consumes 470 milliamperes of current. On a technical level, transmission is accomplished using Manchester encoding, which increases signal integrity across the connection.

A special full-lock connector facilitates effective node connections, enhancing overall reliability.
