Omron’s CS1W-SLK11 is a specialized optical SYSMAC link unit that facilitates communication in complex systems. The connection is achieved through a 2-carrier hard-plastic-clad quartz optical fiber cable, ensuring durability and effectiveness. This unit operates with a fixed baud rate of 2 megabits per second, which is optimal for reliable data exchange. It utilizes a token bus communication method configured for N:N setups, allowing efficient inter-node traffic management.

The daisy chain transmission path allows the unit to extend communication over long distances—up to a maximum of 10 kilometers. When powered by a 5-volt DC supply, it consumes 470 milliamperes of current. On a technical level, transmission is accomplished using Manchester encoding, which increases signal integrity across the connection.

A special full-lock connector facilitates effective node connections, enhancing overall reliability. This optical link unit supports the transfer of up to 2,966 words for both sending and receiving functionalities per node and can integrate with 62 nodes for extensive network configurations.
