Omron's NS12-TS01B is engineered as a programmable terminal for effective human-machine interfaces. Central to its operation is a 12.1-inch high-definition TFT color LCD display, characterized by a resolution of 800x600 pixels. The display features a resistive membrane touchscreen that facilitates straightforward user interactions.

Colors are presented in 256 different shades, with the capability to render up to 32,768 colors in BMP and JPEG formats, ensuring rich color representation. Powering the device requires a line voltage of 24 VDC, with a ±15% variance accepted.

The terminal is equipped with multiple communication options. It has two RS-232 serial ports and an Ethernet interface compatible with IEEE 802.3u standards for 10Base-T and 100Base-TX communication. Additionally, it includes a USB slave port meant for programming tasks and printing capabilities.

In terms of memory, the NS12-TS01B offers a substantial internal capacity of 32,767 bits and words for standard memory purposes, along with 8,192 bits and words allocated for retentive applications. The screen data capacity is rated at 60 MB, with a memory card slot available for one ATA Compact Flash card for expanded storage needs.

With a robust backlight lifetime of a minimum of 50,000 hours, this device is capable of long operation times. Its weight reaches up to 2.5 kg. There is also an option to expand its functionality with an additional network or video unit, if needed.
