The Omron F3S-A161-U Light Curtain Emitter & Receiver is designed for reliable and efficient presence detection and safety applications. Even in challenging lighting conditions, it offers excellent performance, with a maximum receiver surface light intensity of 3,000 lx for incandescent lamps and 10,000 lx for sunlight. The module ensures safe operation with a high insulation resistance of 20 MΩ (at 500 VDC) and a dielectric strength voltage of 1000 VAC (50/60 Hz) for 1 minute. It provides a degree of protection for IP64 (IEC60529), making it resistant to dust and water ingress. The F3S-A161-U Light Curtain demonstrates durability and stability in harsh environments, with vibration resistance of 10 to 55 Hz (double-amplitude: 1.5 mm) for 2 hours during durability testing and 10 to 55 Hz (double-amplitude: 0.7 mm) for 50 minutes during normal operation. It also withstands shocks with resistance to 300 m/s2 [30 G] in X, Y, and Z directions three times during durability testing and 100 m/s2 [10 G] in X, Y, and Z directions 1,000 times during normal operation. The module features an 8-core cable (0.3 mm2 x 4 cores, 0.2 mm2 x 4 cores) for emitter and receiver connections. For enhanced durability, it has a sturdy aluminum case and a front cover made of PMMA (acrylic resin). With a detection distance ranging from 0.2 to 5.0 meters and an optical-axis pitch of 10 mm, the F3S-A161-U provides precise and reliable presence detection. It offers quick response times, with ON→OFF response in 20 ms max. (release time) and OFF→ON response in 55 ms max. (with stable light) in Light ON operating mode.
