The F400-C15E vision mate controller belonging to the Omron F400 range is developed for image processing and inspection applications, and it serves as a central control unit for vision systems. It runs on 24V DC power with a current consumption rating of 0.6 amps. The vision mate controller may connect to and control a single camera, enabling accurate image processing and inspection. It has a resolution of 512 x 484 pixels (HxV) and can record detailed, high-quality images for examination purposes. The F400-C15E can handle a wide range of inspection duties thanks to a maximum of 16 selectable scenarios. The controller's image memory function enables recording up to 16 filtered monochrome images, allowing for comparison and analysis for quality control reasons. The controller's operation techniques are flexible, supporting color pickup and color filtering. Color pickup extracts up to eight colors, while color gray/RGB filters process images with 256 gradations, improving the precision and variety of the inspection process. For precise region-based analysis, the F400-C15E has 16 regions per scene. It also includes mathematical operations, distance computations, angle measurements, square root operations, and the determination of maximum and minimum values. The criteria result output contains overall judgment, operation result judgment by region, and measurement and operation data, enabling comprehensive inspection-based analysis and decision-making. The F400-C15E controller includes a monitor interface for visual inspection process monitoring. It also has an RS-232C interface for communicating with external devices and a parallel I/O interface with 11 inputs and 21 outputs for controlling and integrating with other devices. The F400-C15E supports PNP input/output types.
