Designed for versatility, the Schneider Electric PLX31-EIP-MBS module acts as a communication gateway between various PLC types. It supports the PLC2, PLC5, SLC, CLX, CMPLX, and MICROLX models, making it a robust solution for diverse automation needs. This module can handle both PCCC and CIP message formats, enabling effective data exchanges in industrial environments.

Functionally, this communication module supports five Class 3 server connections. For Class 3 clients, it permits two connected options and one unconnected option. Notably, it can also manage two Class 1 I/O connections. With an I/O connection capacity of 248/248, the device is well-suited for robust applications requiring extensive communication pathways. The maximum RPI time of 5 milliseconds per connection ensures timely data handling across the network.

Incorporating features like Modbus RTU mode with CRC-16 and Modbus ASCII mode with LRC error checking, it also supports various Modbus function codes, including options 1 through 6 and 15 through 23. Moreover, the PLX31-EIP-MBS supports floating point data and allows users to configure software-selectable parameters such as baud rate, parity, data size, stop bits, and RTS On/Off delay. Administrators can also select node addresses from 1 to 247 to tailor the communication module to specific network requirements.
