The output voltage is adjustable up to 485 V DC, which can be modified through field weakening as needed. Continuous output capacity reaches 400 A; in the United States, the derated output current at 485 V DC drops to 276 A, showcasing its adaptability in different operational conditions.

The drive converter also features a field supply input voltage of 400 V AC, which is isolated to provide external excitation. The maximum allowable field output current for motor winding excitation is 32 A. Utilizing a B6C bridge configuration, this unit implements a thyristor-based non-regenerative design.

To promote reliable thermal management, forced-air cooling is employed, supported by integrated fans to ensure optimal performance. The drive is capable of withstanding overload conditions with up to 150% capacity for a brief period of 60 seconds, respecting thermal limits. Comprehensive protection features include monitoring for overcurrent, overtemperature, phase loss, short-circuit, and undervoltage conditions.

Designed for operation in temperatures between 0°C and 40°C, the performance of the 6RA7081-6DS22-0 will begin to derate beyond the 40°C threshold. For field supply output, approximately 325 V can be maintained at 25 A, allowing for reliable operations in various applications.
