Yaskawa's RM2-500 SE2 is a specialized Ferris-wheel rotary indexer structured for two stations. Each side can bear a payload of up to 500 kg, rendering it suitable for heavy-duty tasks. It delivers a welding current capacity of approximately 350 A for continuous use and can reach 460 A at a 60% duty cycle, ideal for demanding applications.
This indexer has a flexible station span ranging from 2 to 4 meters between fixtures, allowing customization to fit specific setups. The overall structure measures the fixture span plus an additional 1.5 meters, ensuring comprehensive operation without compromising on space. Additionally, there’s a dedicated ½ inch pneumatic air port on each side to assist in operational functions.
When indexed through a 180° rotation, the time taken is roughly 3.5 seconds. This indexer provides robust performance, with a dynamic torque of approximately 1,330 Nm and a holding torque around 1,060 Nm. The system can rotate at speeds reaching 10.7 rpm.
The center of gravity (CG) load offset is roughly 217 mm, ensuring stability during operation. The repeatability of the RM2-500 SE2 is precise, maintaining a tolerance of ±0.1 mm. For electrical demands, it has a standard ground current of 800 A, and provides an optional enhancement to 1,600 A.
Moreover, the device can incorporate a slip ring or hollow shaft for passing through air, power, or signals as needed. Its advanced drive system utilizes a 3-axis servo to facilitate effective sweeping and part rotation, enhancing its operational versatility.
